The main objective of the project is to bolster Policy Advocacy on the Agroecology and Sustainable Food System of Nepal. The project team provides secretariat services to the Alliance of Agriculture for Food-AAF. AAF is a collective campaign involving Producer Farmers, I/NGOs and Civil Society Groups working on the issue of food, land,

agriculture and climate change. The campaign aims to amplify the voices of smallholders, women and landless farmers and is committed to promoting sustainable agriculture through an integrated system of social development.

The major activities are broadly categorized under themes: Policy Research, Lobbying and Campaigning, Networking and Mobilization, Training and Capacity Building; and Documentation and Publication. The team mobilizes AAF in bringing issues of agroecology and sustainable food systems into debate through policy advocacy, lobbying and capacity building, supported by evidence generated by the team through research on related issues.

JFL is an open access journal published biannually.

Karnali Agriculture Support Program (KASP)

The main objective of the program is to promote sustainable agriculture through raising concerns of food and agriculture, building capacities of development frontiers and supporting on farm demonstration of arid and organic technologies of the region. This project focuses to scale up innovations and integrations on the issues of sustainable food and agriculture system of the region in collaboration with, KAFCG, local partners and other relevant stakeholders. The cornerstone of the project will be to support and strengthen the capacity of frontiers, coordinate at the local, provincial and federal level, capacity building for policy advocacy, and demonstration of agriculture technologies and raise collective concerns of food and agriculture of the Karnali region. Along with this, the project will provide technical backstopping to agriculture schools operating in the Karnali region, revising curriculum and courses appropriate for arid and semi-arid regions of Karnali.

Evaluating Joint-Venture Arrangements as Models for Investing in Community Forestry in Nepal

The study aims to identify, describe and evaluate Joint-Venture (JV) arrangements between Community Forest User Groups and private enterprises in Nepal. Based on 4-6 cases, the study aims to produce a report and an occasional paper to analyze the effects of resource governance models. In particular, the study explores the terms and condition of the partnership, types and patterns of goods and services, decision-making practices, distribution of revenue among members and partners, conflicts and resolution and external supports. This study aims to analyze the stakeholders to understand their strength and weakness in the above-mentioned parameters.
