Position: Forest Technician

Openings : 37

Key Responsibilities/requirements

  • Review, organize, and enter forestry-related data in TAL districts into the NFIS and SIS database.
  • Ensure consistency and accuracy of data during the entry process.
  • Participate in training sessions and apply learned skills to field deployment.
  • Conduct inception meetings with DFOs and relevant officials in coordination with the project manager/coordinator.
  • Provide shape files of forests with coordinates, if available from the DFOs.
  • Complete data entry tasks within specified deadlines and assist other districts with higher data volumes as required. Forest technicians must ensure the timely completion of assigned data entry tasks and be ready to assist in other districts with larger data volumes, as and when needed.
  • Forest technicians are required to have personal laptops in good condition to facilitate smooth data entry processes.

Desired qualification:

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in forestry with at least 1 year of field experience.
  • Proficiency in advanced computer skills, data management, and knowledge of GIS tools is an advantage.
