Meeting with the Teachers from TECS Schools of Karnali Province
In order to discuss the role of TECS schools to promote organic agriculture in Karnali region, a meeting was held on 25th November, 2018 at Buddichaur, Surkhet. The head teachers and course coordinators from fifteen of the TECS Schools of Karnali Province attended the meeting. Team of ERI/Alliance of Agriculture for Food made presentations on need of organic farming and Karnali specific agro-ecology and its potentialities. The team shared about their experiences of Cuba visit and learning from the bio-pesticides trials done in Jumla as a part of organic movement among the participants. This meeting helped the teachers to internalize the importance of organic farming especially in Karnali. The meeting wasalso fruitful in terms of commitment given by the teachers to initiate the organic movement from their own schools.
